Is a barrier worth building here?

Find out for £99 before you spend more.

A real, engine-computed verdict on whether a fence would help at your property, with an indicative cost range — before you commit to the full £349 Acoustic Barrier Design.

The road’s noise lies across the garden

Loudest at the kerb, cooling with distance

A fence only helps in the pocket behind it

Height alone often buys very little

Sound goes over the top and round the ends

So where the returns go matters as much as the height

Sometimes the honest answer is no

We would rather tell you that for £99 than after £349

The same engine, a lighter answer

Is it worth pursuing at all?

Our full Acoustic Barrier Design (£349) models every combination of fence height and return length for your property and designs the whole thing: exact height, length, position, where the returns go, an interactive model and matched fencing products. The Feasibility Check runs the SAME modelling underneath, but only ever answers the one question most people actually want answered first: is a fence here worth pursuing at all, roughly what would it cost, and what would it achieve? No interactive model, no fencing-product matching, no acoustic-shadow visual — just the honest verdict, fast and cheap.

What you get for £99

  • Everything in Noise Risk Screening — your risk band, Lden/Lnight and a plain-English summary
  • A plain verdict: would a fence help here, or not — never a manufactured recommendation
  • The height and return length that would work, if a fence is worth it
  • An indicative installed-cost range for that design
  • An honest answer when a fence won’t help — some properties genuinely can’t be fixed with one, and we would rather say so for £99 than after £349

What this is — and what it isn't

  • Automated and modelled — produced by our software from national datasets, not measured at your property.
  • No site visit and no individual human review of your report.
  • Every report states its uncertainty range. Figures are estimates within that range.
  • Not suitable as the sole or primary evidence for a planning application or appeal, legal proceedings, an insurance claim, or anything else needing a precise measured level.
  • In a purchase or price negotiation it is supporting context for your own decision — not a valuation, and not a measured figure the other side has to accept.

If you need a figure that will stand up for planning, a legal dispute or an insurance claim, you need a measured survey by a qualified acoustic consultant — not this report. We will tell you that rather than sell you the wrong thing.

Ready to go further? Upgrade from the same report

If your Feasibility Check says a fence is worth it and you want the full design — exact position, where returns need to go, the interactive model, matched fencing products — upgrade to Acoustic Barrier Design or the Complete Property Noise Report from your Feasibility report. If you paid the £99 consumer price, that £99 is credited once against the same assessment: you pay £250 more for Barrier Design rather than £349 again, or £400 more for Complete rather than £499 again. It is applied automatically, checked by us against the stored record for that assessment — not something you need to ask for.

The credit belongs to that one assessment, not to you as a person, since buying a report here doesn’t require an account: it does not carry over to a different address or a fresh check, it can be used once, and it is never more than you actually paid for the Feasibility Check.

Built on the national datasets

Questions buyers ask

How is this different from the £349 Acoustic Barrier Design?

Same underlying engine -- the same height x return grid, the same indicative costs -- but presented as one plain verdict and a cost range rather than the full constraint-based design: recommended height and length, where returns go, the interactive model, the acoustic-shadow visual and matched fencing products. Think of Feasibility as the honest "is it worth it" check before you commit to the full design.

If I upgrade to Barrier Design later, do I pay for both?

Not the full price again. If you paid the £99 consumer price for the Feasibility Check, that £99 is credited once, against the same assessment, when you upgrade from your Feasibility report (the "Upgrade" link on your Feasibility result): £250 more for the £349 Barrier Design, or £400 more for the £499 Complete Property Noise Report. A trade-priced Feasibility earns credit equal to what was paid. The credit is tied to that specific report, not to you as a person, since AcoustaPLOT does not require an account to buy a report.

What if the answer is that a fence won't help?

You still get a plain, honest answer -- that is the point. A fence only helps in a specific pocket between its returns, and height alone often buys very little. If the numbers say a fence is not worth it at your property, the Feasibility Check tells you that for £99 instead of £349.

Is the cost range a real quote?

No -- it is an indicative UK installed price range for a fence of the modelled height and length, for guidance only, not a quotation from any supplier. Once you have a real installer quote, Barrier Design and Complete include a Quotation Comparison against this same indicative range.

The endgame is a measured survey.

Every AcoustaPLOT report is a desktop model — fast, honest about its uncertainty, and the right tool before a decision. Where a figure must stand up formally, for planning or a dispute, the route is an on-site measured survey by a qualified acoustician. How that works →
